The last services of the 2025 season operated from the 28th December mainly in the hands of Lyd and Taliesin, running two services a day to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
The week was blessed with unusually calm and sunny weather for most of the period. The last services ran on Saturday 3rd January 2026 when there was even a decent covering of snow up the line.
With the open views and clear skies, the passengers enjoyed all that the railway can offer.
Meanwhile, services ran on the Welsh Highland Railway, again from Porthmadog, to Beddgelert, with double fairlie James Spooner hauling the Garraway 1950s set, normally used on the Tan y Bwlch Woodland Wanderer services.
All services have now finished until March, with the locos winterised and the carriages stored.
