There has been long term fundraising ongoing to support the Diamond Jubilee Appeal. The COVID situation in 2020 brought a new urgency to fundraising to ensure the railway could survive and an updated booklet has been produced to communicate information from ‘behind the scenes’ of what important things are happening on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway. This (HIAG) is sent to those who have been generous enough to donate or subscribe to the important projects and funds of the Railways. Of particular note in 2021 is how Covid-19 brought the lines to a stop and seriously effected the future – and what everyone did in response to the greatest crisis since 1954, and how the unbeatable co-operation between the Ffestiniog Railway Society, Cymdeithas Rheilffordd Eryri, The Diamond Jubilee Appeal, the Festiniog Railway Company and the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway Trust combined to make a successful year of 2021.
