The Wickham Trolley Rides Again

The Wickham Trolley Rides Again

On Friday 10th March, the Ffestiniog Railway’s Wickham Trolley (a self-propelled personnel carrier) moved under its own power.

Returned to the Ffestiniog in 2010 in time for the first Quirks and Curiosities Weekend, it was a stationary exhibit due to various outstanding jobs. It has subsequently been worked on by Brian Faulkener who has taken it away, sorted the engine and made a new (straight) axle, so it now runs true.

The log book says it last ran in 1973!

Further details and history can be found on the Festipedia site.

The Wickham Trolley should be seen with many other varied oddities at the second Quirks and Curiosities Weekend, held over April 28th to May 1st this year.
