2016 Vintage Weekend Plans

The timetable for the forthcoming Vintage Weekend on the Ffestiniog Railway over the long weekend of 7-9th October has been released.

Featuring original England Engines and Fairlies and a host of original and recreated rolling stock, the event is always a great display of the unique heritage that the Ffestiniog Railway possesses.

Daily Timetable Highlights

Friday:

• Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T working the FR ‘Pink’ timetable service between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog
• Afternoon Tan-y-Bwlch – Porthmadog train with Hunslet 2-4-0STT
• England 0-4-0STT with freight train from Minffordd to Tan-y-Bwlch, returning with additional empty slate waggons
• Midday 1870s train, worked by a Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T, from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog (running as a Mixed train to Tan-y-Bwlch) and return
• Afternoon 1870s train, worked by a Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T, from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and return
• Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T with Slate Waggon train from Porthmadog to Power Station Summit
• Locomotive runs light engine to Blaenau Ffestiniog, returning later to Porthmadog
• Slate Waggons return by gravity from Summit to Porthmadog
• Two vintage trains, worked by an England 0-4-0STT, running from Porthmadog to Minffordd and return
• Three vintage trains, worked by an England 0-4-0STT, running from Porthmadog to Beddgelert and return
• 1870s train, worked by a Single-Fairlie 0-4-4T, from Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch for an evening of Classical entertainment.

Tan y Bwlch

Saturday:

• Early-morning 1870s train, worked by a Single-Fairlie 0-4-4T, from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and return
• Early morning Slate Waggon train from Porthmadog to Dduallt, worked by a Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T
• Slate Waggons return by gravity from Dduallt to Porthmadog
• Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T working the FR ‘Pink’ timetable service between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog
• Two freight trains from Porthmadog, worked by an England 04-0STT, to Tan-y-Bwlch (AM) / Dduallt (PM) and return
• Two 1870s trains, worked by a Double Fairlie 0-4-4-0T, from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and return (Morning train runs as mixed to TYB)
• Mid-afternoon 1870s train, worked by a Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T, from Porthmadog to Minffordd and return
• One vintage train from Porthmadog to Minffordd and return, worked by an England 0-4-0STT
• Two vintage trains from Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch and return, worked by an England 0-4-0STT
• One vintage train from Porthmadog to Minffordd and return, worked by a Single-Fairlie 0-4-4T

• Early morning freight train from Porthmadog to Dduallt, worked by an England 0-4-0STT (return to Minffordd)
• Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T working the FR ‘Pink’ timetable service between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog
• Mid-morning freight train from Minffordd to Dduallt, worked by an England 0-4-0STT (returning to Porthmadog, with additional empty slate waggons)
• Mid-morning vintage train from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and return, worked by a Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T
• Midday 1870s train, worked by a Double-Fairlie, from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog (Mixed train to Tan-y-Bwlch) and return
• Afternoon 1870s train, worked by a Single-Fairlie 0-4-4T, running from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and return (with the ‘Boat’ attached as far as Tan-y-Bwlch)
• One Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch and three Porthmadog to Minffordd (and return) vintage trains, worked by an England 0-4-0STT
• Afternoon Slate Waggon train from Porthmadog to Power Station Summit, worked by a Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T
• Locomotive runs light engine to Blaenau Ffestiniog, returning later to Boston Lodge
• Slate Waggons return by gravity from Summit to Minffordd Yard
• Late afternoon Gravity run by Spooner’s ‘Boat’ from Tan-y-Bwlch to the Mineral Line at Minffordd
• Private evening train with Double-Fairlie 0-4-4-0T, running from Porthmadog to Tanygrisiau and return
